Expulsion of Gerta Schnirch
The question of guilt and forgiveness in the context of 20th century history.

The story about a human destiny broken by history, about the guilt of Czechs and Germans, about whether it is possible to forgive and understand, is a dramatization of the successful novel by contemporary Czech novelist Katerina Tučková. It is based on historical events, inseparably linked to the past of the city of Brno. Specifically, it displays the so-called. “Brno Death March” and the fate of its participant, Gerta Schnirch, from a German-Czech family.
The production is a contribution to the social discussion on the hitherto insufficiently reflected topic of the displacement of Czech Germans. The fate of Gerta Schnirch shows the events of the second half of the twentieth century from the perspective of a man who, on the basis of historical events and political decisions, lost his civil status in the country where he was born, had to remain and died without being able to forgive.
The production won the Theatre Newspaper Award 2015 in the Drama Theatre category. Sara Venclovská nominated for the Theatre Newspaper Award 2015 (acting performance).
