When she heard the voices, she set out, without hesitation, into a bloody battle.

A collective dream of the medieval people about a savior who could end the Hundred Years’ War. Yet the trust of nobles and soldiers is not easily won by a young, inexperienced girl. Joan must undergo difficult trials to convince those around her of her abilities. An uncompromising clash with authority and constant power struggles accompany her every step. She relies on faith—but who are the voices speaking to her? Her trances inspire distrust in some, while in others they spark hope through her ability to see beyond the horizon.

But what does Joan truly believe in? In God? And what if God remains silent? Will a fortune teller help—or must she rely only on herself? The Inquisition, however, is clear: This girl is on fire!

This collectively devised, full-ensemble production inspired by the legend of Joan of Arc explores the question of what we believe in today. Can one woman change the world? And should she have to do it alone? Activism, egoism, or both at once? Joan’s story challenges gender norms and highlights radical convictions about utopias and personal truth.

Should we reject violence if we believe it can save the world? Joan of Arc speaks about facing opposition that does not understand you, about female glory, and about distrust toward youth.
