The Dramaturg Intervenes: Man, Word Order Bad

To close Season 51: Collective, we have prepared a staged reading of a brand-new play written by Jana Vaverková and Robin Mayer.

“Dramaturg Intervenes: The Man with the Wrong Word Order” brings perspective and lightness back into a world from which excessive caution has drained everything genuine and real. Join us in a radio studio that can no longer afford an editor, where everything is created live on air, right on the spot.

A traditional detective story gradually begins to fall apart, and the characters, circumstances — and ultimately life itself — are given space to reveal themselves in their raw, unfiltered form. The long-standing narrow-mindedness and complacency of public broadcasting become embodied in the figure of the dramaturg, who tries his best, yet constantly loses his grip on the plot, the characters, and the very essence of the story, until he desperately decides to put an end to it all. But at that very moment, he is betrayed by himself — or rather, by his inner child. The playfulness hidden even within the coldest soul might still save everything in the end. It could be possible… if only we didn’t live in a world where the loudest voice is always considered right.
